Such a Time as This, November 1 —
"For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there
enlargement and deliverance arise to the Hews from another place; but thou
and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou
art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? "Esther 4:14. Pastor
Ephraim explains that God has preserved a people for these last days.
Cruel Power of the Enemy, November 2 —
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the
devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh
to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double
minded." James 4:7, 8. Pastor Ephraim looks at ways in which Satan comes.
He also explains how to escape those temptations.
The Device of Worldliness, November 3 —
"Lest Satan should get an advantage of
us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." 2 Corinthians 2:11. Pastor
Ephraim looks at the devices of Satan. He focuses upon "self confidence"
as one of Satan most successful device.
Testing the Voice of the Shepherds, November 4 —
"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am
known of mine." John 10:14. Pastor Ephraim talks about the agents of
Satan and how they present themselves.
Prayer for the Sick, November 5 —
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray
one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much." James 5;16. Pastor Ephraim examines
healing. He addresses the idea of whether all healing comes from God.
He also unpacks the role that confession and righteousness play in
Testing Our Mettle, November 7 —
think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you,
as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch
as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall
be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy." 1 Peter 4:12,
13. Pastor Ephraim explains the role that trails play in the Christian
life. He explains that perfection comes before placement.
Safety in Vigilance, November 8 —
"Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but
let us watch and be sober." 1 Thessalonians 5:6. What does it mean to
be sleep, watch and to be sober? Why it is important to understand
Mystic Voices of Today, November 9 —
"And the soul that turneth after such as have
familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I
will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from
among his people." Leviticus 20:6. Pastor Ephraim explains that
spiritualism is alive and well today. He shows that it has infiltrated
A Dangerous Form of Mind Cure, November 10 —
"Beware lest any man spoil you through
philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the
rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Colossians 2:8. Janice
Ephraim shows some of the ways that modern day philosophy are exerting
themselves upon Christendom.
Falsely So Called," November 11 —
Pastor Ephraim explains the difference between
true science and "science falsely so called." He explains that true
science does not conflict with God, but leads to Him. He reminds us of
the words of Paul to Timothy, "O Timothy, keep that which is committed
to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of
science falsely so called." 1 Timothy 6:20.
Wolves in Sheep's Clothing, November 12 —
Pastor Ephraim unpacks those who are most at
risk for the snares of the devil; explaining why they are so
vulnerable. He reminds us that "For the time will come when they will
not endure sound doctrine" in the churches. He explains that men
"after their own lusts shall" come into to the church with the purpose
of "heaping to themselves" individuals who have "itching ears." 2
Are You In Danger?, November 13 —
Scripture says that our "adversary the devil, as
a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8.
But we all know that the entire heard is never eaten at once. What
puts one animal at risk while the others escape? Pastor Ephraim
explains that those among God's people who claim to fears the Lord,
yet walk in darkness are in danger. He show that their only remedy is
to "...trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God." Isaiah
Taking Hold of God's Strength, November 14 —
Pastor Ephraim examines what it means to take
hold of the hand of God. He shows that in order to make it through
this world all of God's children must hold on to Him and never let go.
He reminds us of the words of Isaiah which say, "Let him take hold of
my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace
with me." Isaiah 27:5.
Seen and Unseen Foes, November 15 —
There is a saying in society, "What you don't
see can't hurt you." In the spiritual world as well as in the physical
world that isn't always true. Pastor Ephraim explore "Seen and Unseen
Foes;" examining the role they play in purifying some as causing
others do wickedly. Scripture says, "Many shall be purified, and made
white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the
wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." Daniel 12:10.
Safety Only in Obedience, November 21 —
There are many who are mistaken about the reason
Jesus came to earth. They have been led to believe that obedience
isn't important. Pastor Ephraim unpacks why there is safety only in
obedience when it comes to salvation. He reminds us that "For the eyes
of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their
prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." 1
